You may have guessed by the title of my first book Stage Struck, that amateur theatre has always played a huge part in my life – but for friends reading this let me assure you – you’re not in the book! Well, maybe bits of a few of you…

I began my theatrical ‘career’ with Harpenden Methodist Players in the late 60’s and cut my acting teeth on such plays as Haul for the Shore and Running Riot. I suppose I’ve been running riot ever since and I’m sure I could write a whole book about the fun and mishaps along the way – except that Michael Green did it first.

In the seventies I moved to Singapore with husband David and two little girls and for nearly four years belonged to the Stage Club, which is still going strong thirty years later.  I also began writing for a local magazine as well as some TV programmes for Television Singapore and three pantomimes.

When we returned to England I was, for many years a member of The Company of Ten who have their own fabulous theatre in St.Albans. After leaving the area I belonged variously to The Leighton Buzzard Drama Group and Wheathampstead Players. Since we retired to Spain five years ago I have started a theatre company here called 'Dramatic Licence' which to date has performed six shows to great acclaim and raised 19000 euros for the local Alzheimer’s’ Society.

I have also had the freedom to write since moving to this wonderful country. I worked as reporter and ‘gardening expert’ for the local newspaper Round Town News for nearly two years but gave it up because I wanted to write fiction.

I was delighted when Libros International accepted Stage Struck and hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing about the madcap world of the theatre.

My next book is now complete and as I used to run a dating agency – guess what. That’s the subject. I also love to write romance – so watch this space.
